Discrimination
I believe it’s going to be my 2’nd time visiting st.Petersburg . The first time, I went to stay on Lomonosov street. Found the bar on the street. However, when I tried to enter they asked if I do speak Russian. I said I don’t speak fluently. Then they asked me to leave because the bar was closed. Then next year, I came with my sisters to st.Petersburg for a trip. While I was looking around I saw the place again. And went to the door. There were 2 police officers and 2 bodyguards at the door. Asked if the bar is open…. Same question. Do you speak Russian? I said, Not really fluently. After that, they did the same. Asked me to leave. However, before I was leaving I saw him letting 3 guys and 1 person exiting. I then though it was pure discrimination based on language differences. However, when I was about to leave. I came to the door and asked the guys. If they know any gay bars. The police officer clapped his hand and said in Russian. “ Do you wanna get f*****? “ I was stunned by the response. Said, no just comfortable places where I can dance and feel safer especially after seeing this incident and disgusting behavior. I found a guy in next-door bar. Just Asked if this a gay-friendly bar. He said yes, and I asked why aren’t they letting foreigners. He was Russian, but told me that they didn’t let him enter either. It’s a very confusing and weird bar. I suggest your gay-friendly status or bodyguard should be changed. Who can explain why we are not being serviced at their bar.
Kindest regards
Fred
