Great Hotel, but NOT in a gay area as communicated here
The hotel is advertised here in the middle of the gay neighbourhood, but this has not existed for 2-3 years. Bars for gays can only be found far outside Manila, most of them with high (by Philippine standards!) entrance and consumption prices. The biggest problem, however, is that almost none of the bars found via Google have an up-to-date Facebook or website. Everything is at least 2 years old... Brave, who dares anyway. In any case - I staid in this wonderful Hotel, there's nothing in the hotel neighbourhood.
With a taxi ride of 20-30 minutes outside, there are supposed to be large entertainment bars, but you can't even book tickets on their websites. You have to call or email....But not ticket are guaranteed. If you go on-time, you pay more and get a place without table and seat. For a Drag show, which can you see in Bangkok or Taipei much better and cheaper. And this in 2025????
Honestly, whether politically intended or not... as a gay man, it's not worth travelling to go out. And certainly not in the neighbourhoods that were popular before 2015.... There's simply nothing left. There are still two saunas! One is also an entertainment club and the other can be booked in advance by day and time. Aha. For a country that is known here as the gay metropolis, it's a little enchanting. Save yourself the journey and fly on to Taipei or Bangkok!
Ps. The Hotel Daimong is of course westernised in accordance with its high standard and is absolutely recommendable for a 5-star hotel. It's just that it's not in the scene, but in the young girls' nightlife district.
For those who like it....
